If you are getting this error That means your hardware key is missing or can’t be read from the POS system.

Focus POS has a hardware key. It’s a USB flash drive that’s (usually) purple, has a red or green light, and looks like:

NOTE: The Focus Hardware key is most often plugged into the Focus Station or the Backup Station located in the office or behind the bar

IF the hardware key is not plugged into the main Focus Station or Backup Station, find it immediately and plug it back into the station.

IF the hardware key is already plugged into the main Focus Station or Backup Station but you’re receiving the same error, try unplugging the Focus Hardware key, plugging it back in and re-booting the Focus Station.

NOTE: Older hardware keys may look like USB flash drives that are black and have a green light on them
